Piriformis Syndrome
Piriformis syndrome is diagnosed in such a way that makes it sound like it is an isolated problem with the piriformis muscle but in most case that is not true. The piriformis muscle can tighten up and shorten, but not as an isolated incident in the body. The reality is piriformis syndrome is normally just one part of a whole pattern of imbalance and mechanical problems in the body.
It doesn’t matter where in your body there are muscle imbalances, they will eventually affect other parts. For the physically active It happens a lot faster especially with activities such as lifting weights, running or jumping around.
Piriformis syndrome treatment should involve the full body not just the isolated piriformis muscle because the tightening of it is more the result of pressure from muscle imbalances in the body.
The symptoms of a pelvic rotation or tilt include: tight piriformis, irritation to the sacrum joint, sore knees or feet, tight or sore shoulders and/ or neck, tight or sore thoracic spine. So as you can see it pretty much affects every part of your body eventually and the piriformis muscle is one of the first affected.
The full body approach corrects the muscle imbalances and rebalances the pelvis taking away any tilt or rotation and therefore taking pressure off the piriformis muscle and providing relief.
The normal treatment of piriformis syndrome using ice and stretching is only addressing a symptom and won’t provide any lasting relief. If you have found treating your piriformis syndrome this way hasn’t given you satisfactory results you would be wise to look at your whole body and try to determine where your muscle imbalances are coming from. If you focus your treatment on these areas you should find your piriformis syndrome clears up as part of the process.
One way you can begin to address your muscle imbalances and understanding how they cause problems such as piriformis syndrome is by watching the free video demonstrating my unique technique for getting instant relief from back pain and sciatica. Testimonials
"Hi Steve,
Thank you for all the help you have given through your emails. I actually live in England
but saw your site on how to help sciatica, so thought I would give the instant relief a go
as I had been unable to relieve the pain any other way. I was having chiropractic help
but did as you suggested with the balls and I found great relief from doing this exercise,
it really does work!! Luckily my back has returned to normal now but I continue to work
with the balls, so thank you again for the great help, so simple yet effective.

I have been using your program for a month plus now & there is great improvement in
"my lower back. I am now able to walk for about an hour four times a week. For three
months before the treatment started I could barely put one foot in front of the other.
Thanks for all your information,"
